Full Moon Studios

Hi! Welcome to the home of Full Moon Studios.  I have been drawn to art since I received my first big box of crayolas as a child.  And have been painting since I took my first lessons with a private teacher in grade school.

My art reflects my interests:  gardens, nature, home life... An undying curiosity for learning new technique and craft has led me to excell in a number of media which I employ at will to express my ideas and fancies.

The guiding principle behind my work is color.  I love to play and push the colors I see around me daily with my paint.  I am constantly amazed by nature's colors.  And the changes that occur with the seasons of the year and the cycles that bring those seasons round and round.

I am motivated to paint by the nuances in the great outdoors, whether it is a garden planted by humans, or by nature herself.  And by the unknown planters- the faeries, goddesses, spirits, - in other words the mystery and myth that is for me also a part of nature and our world.  Who can say faeries and dragons are not as real as chipmunks and fish - we all have a picture in our mind of what a dragon is,  for me that makes them as real as any other inhabitant of our world.

I paint daily.  I have begun a series of 'daily paintings' to increase my skill and allow me to test subject matter, color theory, and just plain play once in a while.  I also enjoy painting outdoors or plein air. I utilize visual journals to test ideas and record daily happenings as well.  My art ranges in size from ATC (artist trading card) size to murals.  You will find in my gallerys that I not only paint, but I am also a dollmaker and fiberartist.  Altered art and mixed media are passions of mine.

Follow the links at left to explore my work.  My blog logs creative adventures and my daily painting results.  Many of my works are still available for purchase.  New work becomes available daily.  And I would like nothing better than to work on a commissioned piece just for you!
